ECI Training Opportunities

ECI has a variety of training opportunities available in May including courses covering Control Valve Application and Theory and Calibration.

Control Valve – 101: Application and Theory

This course on Control Valve Theory and Application (16 hours) will expose you to a variety of control valve designs and applications. This course will cover an introduction to control valves, ASME piping specifications, and connections, valve body and bonnet material selection versus designs conditions, definitions, actuators, and assemblies, as well as shutoff capabilities and process control.

Upon completion, you will develop an understanding of control valve design and applications, as well as recognizing the various types of control valves utilized in today’s process control loops.

This course will specifically cover:

  • Introduction to Control Valves
  • Actuators and Accessories
  • How control valves function/operate
  • ASME Piping Specs & Connections
  • Shutoff Capabilities
  • Body sub-assemblies and differing actuation techniques
  • Valve Body & Bonnet Material Selection vs. Design Conditions
  • Process Control
  • Exposure to accessories associated with control valves

  • Control Valve Terminology
  • Definition and understanding of various types of control valves
  • Actuators, positioners, and digital valve controllers

What’s New: Endress+Hauser’s Liquiline System CA80AL Aluminum Analyzer

Endress+Hauser recently introduced the new Liquiline CA80AL Aluminum analyzer. The CA80AL is the latest addition to the Liquiline CA80 platform of analyzers. It’s a colorimetric analyzer for aluminum solutions, such as potable water. It shares the same Liquiline electronics, ease of operation, simple maintenance, and overall low cost-of-ownership as the rest of the CA80 product line.

While low levels of aluminum are a natural constituent in groundwater, high levels of aluminum are toxic. The CA80AL provides an accurate and reliable method to ensure aluminum levels are below acceptable levels.

Benefits include:

  • Reliable, regulation-compliant measurements by using standardized methods
  • Cost savings through low reagent consumption and virtually tool-free maintenance
  • Advanced diagnostics and process documentation with remote access to the analyzer
  • Fast commissioning thanks to Memosens technology and intuitive Liquiline operating concept
  • Easy upgrade to a complete measuring station connecting Memosens sensors
  • Suitable version for any application – self-priming for particle-free water, or with sample preparation system
